TECHNOLOGY
Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) uses a high-energy, short-pulse laser as the excitation source to achieve optical breakdown at the surface of a target material. From the breakdown plasma spectrum, one can obtain both qualitative and quantitative information about the material composition.

LIBS technology is a superior technology for aluminum alloy testing. It is free of the ionizing radiation hazard found in x-rays and has a very low maintenance cost. Our LIBS analyzer provides a high-performance, low-cost solution for many customers and is backed by an industry-standard one-year factory warranty on the entire analyzer.

Vela's handheld LIBS analyzer is designed with its intended users in mind at all times. From hardware design to user interface, we want our product to be user friendly. The ease-of-use features allows very little training before one can operate the instruments properly and safely, and achieve the highest quality results.
